Klaviyo Deplatforms GreenMedInfo.com; Joins Widespread Big Tech Censorship Agenda

The global deplatforming agenda against GreenMedInfo which began in 2018 lurches forward, with Klaviyo's latest decision to to deplatform us without justification. 

On July the 21st, the email service provider Klaviyo deplatformed GreenMedinfo.com, despite our organization having an excellent 2+ year track record with exemplary compliance, deliverability, and engagement by our newsletter followers.  

When Klaviyo was questioned as to the reason for the decision, they said a single email we sent to a free event called the Inflammation Masterclass was said to have been from a blacklisted domain; even though we have no direct association with that domain or business; nor did they provide evidence that this domain was problematic. After many attempts over the course of a month to speak with their leadership team, we were met with roadblocks and a refusal to explain or discuss their position. 

As we were told, this action was a precaution to save their reputation and infrastructure. Do we venture to ask, why? Why, after a great relationship, are we a threat to their reputation?

Is this similar to the censorship we faced with Mailchimp a few years ago, when so-called “anti-vaccine” content was the supposed cause of our being canceled, and if so, is Klaviyo (and their investors) also being influenced by conflicts of interest that stand in direct opposition to the freedom of speech of their clients?

Are they, like Mailchimp, acting as publishers and not platform providers, which is what they are advertising themselves as. Are they hiding behind section 230 of the Communications Decency Act which indemnifies them from unscrupulous practices where they are, in fact, modifying, directing, and/or entirely suppressing our First Amendment protections related to freedom of speech? 

Mailchimp’s biggest conflict of interest is that they are official partners with the CDC Foundation, a non-profit arm of the CDC which allows them to take in hundreds of millions of dollars of “donations” from pharmaceutical companies. Could Klaviyo have similar conflicts?  

Last year in May, Klaviyo took on $320 million dollars of investment in their series D round from the following investors: 

• Sands Capital

• Counterpoint Global (Morgan Stanley)

• Whale Rock Capital Management, 

• ClearBridge Investments

• Lone Pine Capital

• Owl Rock Capital

• Glynn Capital

• Keith Block (former CEO of Salesforce)

• With participation from existing partners Accel and Summit Partners

These capital firms have collectively raised billions of dollars investing in technological and medical services platforms, many of which have directly or indirectly contributed to irrational and unethical censorship and medical related policies. Their boards often interlock or share affiliations, and together, they exert top-down pressure on companies to make decisions that are often diametrically opposed to the freedom of speech, especially when it comes to medical freedom and bodily sovereignty issues. We can hope that there are good intentions and people in positions of power within these organizations, and that they will consider the implications of their involvement in arbitrary deplatforming of organizations such as ours, but until we have evidence of this, we can assume that Klaviyo is just following an increasingly universal agenda that has infected almost every Big Tech company in existence today. 

The seeming arbitrariness and suddenness of Klaviyo’s action is reminiscent of our previous email provider Mailchimp’s deplatforming of Greenmedinfo in 2019, which they attributed to our publishing so-called “anti-vaccine” content. You can learn more about what happened here. 

Clearly, GreenMedInfo.com continues to find itself under attack, and by implication, the overall goal of health freedom and free access to information without which making an informed choice is not possible. While this latest deplatforming event will cause GreenMedInfo further challenges, we have proven oruselves resilient time and time again.
